My foray into the world of J-Pop (a.k.a. Nemi) has led me to Hamasaki Ayumi--her Eurobeat albums are actually too much for me as the ultra-hard hitting beats of those remixes require nice long breaks in between songs, but I like her dancey songs like "Evolution" and I'd actually heard "Boys & Girls" before, although it took me a long time to place (Yossie sang it in her audition =D)--and the language-spanning BoA. (It's kind of shocking to hear an artist singing Japanese and/or Korean and then fluently switch to English for a line or chorus.) I'm currently totally into BoA's "Nobody But You" and have determined from a quick listen-through that a lot of her stuff is very... hip-hop is not quite the word, nor is R&B, but like that. You know what I mean? Though I very much dig the dancier rhythms of this genre, I'm very picky about songs I like in it, so I guess I'll spend some time sifting through BoA--and Hamasaki--to determine what songs I like. Though BoA might have lost a lot of cool points with me when I realized that she sings "Shine We Are". =DDDDDDDDDDD (What's with the Engrish in "Shine We Are," then? BoA's English actually seems to be generally good in her songs.)

I'm not sure why Nemi started throwing Hamasaki music at me, though I definitely threw Yaguchi's impersonation of Hamasaki at her. =D Yaguchi currently gets a lot of my love for the way she ripped into her fellow H!P members in Episode 14 of Hello Pro Hour--and the way she was like >.< when Kei-chan brought up her break up with her boyfriend... the guy she resigned from Morning Musume because of and for which she was shafted quite a while performance-wise.
