Mar. 1st, 2008 03:48 pmYAY! Hello! Project and Takarazuka are teaming up to do another play: Cinderella the Musical!

Speculations about who will get what role are flying about, but if they cast the same way they did Ribbon no Kishi in 2006, then the members will have to audition for the roles. With that in mind, I know a lot of people are already casting Takahashi Ai as Cinderella... but kind of knowing Ai's love of Takarazuka (and watching the Enta no Kamisama episode where Morning Musume and Takarazuka collaborated to perform Mr. Moonlight showed young Takahashi's shy admiration of the actresses) and her own realization that her height would have limited her to musumeyaku roles, I wouldn't be surprised if she went for an otokoyaku role like the Prince. Although H!P might use the Prince's role to highlight non-Morning Musume members like it did in Ribbon, where Ishikawa Rika, Matsuura Aya, and Abe Natsumi all performed the role (has anyone seen the Abe version? I know Takahashi commented that Abe was the most dangerous one because in practice she acted as if she really knew how to sword fight, lol). If that's the case... I'm really hoping Yoshizawa will audition for a role. I wonder if Fujimoto will be making an appearance as well (as an evil stepsister? She played evil so well last time)? The play will probably mainly feature Morning Musume members, though.
... I'd love to see Nakazawa as the step mother, ahahahaha.
Also, according to the jpopmusic boards, Takarazuka is participating a lot more in this performance, contributing 20 dancers! I wonder what the otokoyaku/musumeyaku ratio is in those numbers.
I enjoyed watching the girls in Ribbon such it had such higher production value than their usual stage shows, so I'm looking forward to it.
Watch Ribbon no Kishi, subtitled, at Veoh: Part 1, Part 2 + Concert, Curtain Call + Ogawa's graduation. I think it's also available over at crunchyroll.
I love the stories that Miki scared little kids with her performance as Witch Hecate. =D
ETA: The Cinderella Musical thread over at jpopmusic.com. The thread seems to be aggregating all the news releases. The cast looks like it's not including anyone outside of Morning Musume. D:
