SNSD's new reality show Horror Factory premiered today and I kind of hate that the first episode was all about trying to fool TaeYeon. This is the second time at least the girls have worked with a show to pull a prank on TaeYeon (the other one I know of being the "School of Rock" episode with students from TaeYeon's former high school) and I always feel so bad for the person getting pranked. (Incidententally, the whole group was pranked/punk'd by "School of Rock" too, which also made me feel awful for them.)

Putting aside my ambivalent feelings toward how much the members were enjoying punking poor TaeYeon--the discomfort; but the hilarity!--oh my God, SooYoung and YuRi! AHAHAHAHA. SooYoung was trying so hard not to give the joke away and she couldn't help laughing at times but damn she was putting on a performance right along with YuRi, who had to play possessed. SooYoung was putting on the more subtle performance. =D

I think SooYoung can win Horror Factory. I think she's the more natural actress between her and YuRi. I can see why SooYoung pointed YuRi out as her rival.

But, aw, I just wanted to give TaeYeon hugs. You can definitely see her trying to be the mature, levelheaded, calm one, i.e. the leader, when there's all this crazy stuff going on around her. I'm surprised she wasn't tipped off, though. YuRi is one of the members who loves horror movies and whatnot, so TaeYeon seemed to almost catch YuRi at acting when YuRi was reluctant to go into the house. Gonna need subs.

Random: How cute was it that they highlighted SeoHyun offering coffee to a staff member?

I'm always impressed with how SM Ent. sets the girls up on shows that ultimatley seek to promote and improve their skills in the entertainment world. So while we get a reality show, the industry gets to evaluate their (horror) acting skills.

The set up in episode 2 looks intense! Those are a lot of awesome movie tricks they filled that school with.
Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year

This song and these lyrics in particular make me irrationally angry.

Either A) that boyfriend was one hell of a pretty boy or B) that was one manly girlfriend. If A, then the girl likes pretty boys, which can be a turn off for some. If B, the singer's interest in his object of affection may not be a compliment. If that's the case, I'm not sure that he's "got potential."

This rant brought to you by Pandora.

Also, why wasn't I warned that the cinematography in Quantum of Solace was godawful? Action sequences should be enjoyable not dizzingly confusing with entirely too may cuts! But Olga Kurylenko's accented English was so win. I had to resist the urge to say out loud, "Oh my God, her accent is sexy." That didn't save the movie from being nearly incoherent.
