a proposition
Jan. 5th, 2010 02:54 pmI've been thinking about this since before New Year's, but I wasn't sure how to logistically go about putting it together or how to present it.
This blog is not a K-pop source and I hope I haven't given the false impression that I am at all knowledgeable about K-pop. I am, at heart, a HyoYeon fan and by extension an SNSD fan and pretty happy in that bubble. It's what I spazz about here. I would have never expected that one day my spazzing would attract thoughtful, playful, serious, challenging, and crack-filled discussions. When we take ourselves seriously (rofl), the comments have been wonderful, well-informed, and broadening--and I get the sense that many of the visitors here have a lot to say, especially analysis and meta re: SNSD, K-pop in general, A-pop, A-pop in the US, etc.
I don't post about all this stuff (though we've touched on these subjects in comments) but I was wondering if you guys would be interested in creating a space where you and everyone else can, like an LJ community say. People who want to post would have to get an LJ account, but it would be a space where we can kind of collect meta, discussions, etc. I know there are SNSD LJ comms out there, but they don't seem big on discussion?
I don't have any knowledge on the forum, WordPress, and other community-like boards fronts, so I don't know how to set something up like that. Of course, I will continue to spazz in my little world of HyoYeon and SNSD love here, but making a comm or something along those lines is an option if you guys feel like it'd be a nice way to share meta and thoughts. Another solution is just to friend each other up and everyone post on their own journals. I just feel like you guys have a lot to say on all sorts of fandom topics that I'll probably never touch on myself and I want to read these thoughts, too.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Who cares, we've got open threads?
ETA: LOL, guys, if we're going to come up with a comm name, can we not be so fail?
Read please: Alright, so if we do this, I think the comm will be trial and error for a bit. To see what works and what doesn't. The important thing is that people would be willing to post on the comm. Personally, I'd like a comm that's more meta/analysis based. I don't think that's all that should be posted there, but I think it would prevent clogging up flists. For example, people have talked about posting up compilation posts (weekend roundup type deals) but combining that with analysis and performance reviews. I think that's a perfect example of spazzing and meta combination. Otherwise, really, I don't need OMNTD doubling up on my flist; that would be like adding ONTD again (aaaaaaaaaaah!).
Yay? Nay? Name suggestions?
LOLOLOL, I give up you guys. Have fun in the comments. :D (Why are there 400 comments in the other post?)
In THESE comments you'll find:
- on-topic discussions about a comm
- discussion about the new album since news came out that a full album will be released February some time --> speculations & SNSD conceptual stuff
- Moar HyOnew shipping
- f(x) talk [1 2]
