damn you, volleyball
Aug. 7th, 2012 02:32 pmMe: I'll pack up and go in a few minutes.
TV: "Coming up next, women's volleyball live. It's the quarterfinals with the USA vs. the Dominican Republic."
Me: Dammit. I have to stay and watch this.
TV, during a break in the match: "Still to come, beach volleyball, the USA vs. number one seed Brazil."
Me: Really? C'mon.
The USA Walsh/May team took on China's Zhang/Xue. I didn't know who to root for: the USA home team and two-time gold medalist playing together for the last time or my returning Olympics crush Xue Chen. The match had some great points but it played out like 2008 again. Alas, poor China.
This USA vs. the Dominican Republic match has had some great points too, but unless DR has an amazing rally, this is USA's game to lose. Go, USA!
ETA: Holy crap, all American final in women's beach volleyball! Sorry,
irishlittlewisk! :P No worries, you'll have the home soil boost in 2016.
