Lost Girl: 3x07, 3x08, Live Chat with EA
Mar. 11th, 2013 07:09 pmFirst, last week's 3x07, "There's Bo Place Like Home":
The episode itself felt like it was slightly off. A lot of that may have had to do with Kenzi being off her game.
BUT! Bo's final speech to her mother? Amazing. Actual feels. The speech itself and Anna's high emotion delivering it: right in the heart.
Second, 3x08 "Fae-ge Against the Machine":
What? What? WHAT?
Wait.
What?
I feel like I haven't understood anything about Lauren's standing and/or daily living experience among the fae. My mind was blown and I was left dazed and confused. So confused.
( You know how I said that I often feel like this show has the ability to follow lines of logic and reach the same logical conclusions/plot lines that the audience puts together? THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE MOMENTS. )
Oh yeah, other stuff happened in this episode, and it was actually pretty fun when I set aside all the Lauren stuff making me go "What? What? WHAT?" I liked that little steampunk machine.
WHICH REMINDS ME: Is Hale just using the backroom of the Dal? For serious? LAWL. Oh, Hale.
LOL and ♥ @ Anna having to do all sorts of random acting. No Kenzi, no Dyson in this episode, though.
OH WAIT, I KINDA FORGOT THAT I WAS KINDA/SORTA/PROBABLY DEFINITELY OFFENDED AT THE FOBBY ASIAN FAE. Ffs, seriously, can we not have stereotyped East Asian representative characters? I feel like I need to wrap myself up in some Lucy Liu as JoanSherlockWatson to combat that shit.
So that live chat with "Lost Girl" showrunner Emily Andras during the airing of 3x08 happened over at Doccubus.com. The site posted up the full transcript, which included a Q&A session at the end. (Emily Andras also agreed to answer additional submitted Q&A questions that required more indepth answers. Those questions and answers will be posted up at a future date.)
It was mostly a madhouse because there were so many users in chat at once, even despite only a small fraction actually participating. There was also a lot of unncessary freaking out during parts of the episode and felt like a microcosm of fandom in general. Emily Andras was sort of troll-y and it was really interesting to me that she chose this specific episode to have a sitdown over at a Doccubus fansite.
The Q&A session did have some interesting questions and answers, though Emily Andras didn't answer much and was also being a troll (in a self-aware manner):
( That damn door. )
ETA: OMG, 3x09 PROMOTIONAL PICS. WOMEN IN UNIFORM. MY KINKS. LET ME SHOW YOU THEM. (AHAHAHAHAHA, how flat Anna Silk looks in that shirt. XD)
