"Orphan Black" Rewatch
Dec. 1st, 2013 02:23 pmI (accidentally, unintentionally) did a pretty intense "Orphan Black" rewatch.
I started writing commentary with Episode 2. It went progressively downhill from there. D: My commentary got more and more intense as I wrote down more and more of my thoughts and there were more topics and plot to cover as the episodes went on (since OB's plot is a build-up effect of thickening threads). The commentary posts get pretty monstrous by the last third. I'm all primed for a very relaxing rewatch now. XD I have such renewed mad respect for recappers who actually bother with trying to summarize the plot and make it exciting and funny. But these were pretty fun to write once I hit a stride. Time consuming though, good lordy.
1.01: "Natural Selection"
1.02: "Instinct"
1.03: "Variation under Nature"
1.04: "Effects of External Conditions"
1.05: "Conditions of Existence"
1.06: "Variations under Domestication"
1.07: "Parts Developed in an Unusual Manner"
1.08: "Entangled Bank"
1.09: "Unconscious Selection"
1.10: "Endless Forms Most Beautiful"
(I love the episode titles, all taken from Darwin's On the Origin of Species.)
I do think I ended up softening on Paul with the rewatch (I still don't like him, but I didn't feel as exasperated with him as a character), shipping Felix/Colin, forming a headcanon that Angie had a thing for Beth but was rejected and acts out of the impulses of a woman scorned, wanting to know all the things about Mrs. S, and verifying that Evelyne Brochu's face just makes me happy. Hiiiiiiiiii, Delphine~~
