Jan. 2nd, 2008 05:40 pmYossie is such love that she drives older men to distraction. LOL, not really, but it's cute to see some of the goal keepers jokingly using the excuse of Yossie's handshake as the reason why her shots get pass them. This is a clip from one of those win money prizes show in which you have to score five goals off of five different goal keepers. Yossie's the only chica there and so much ribbing and commentary goes throughout her attempt. Awesome. =D (Notice how the goal keepers started taking off a glove to shake Yossie's hand. LOL.)
I was feeling really nostalgic and watched the 4th Generation Audition on Asayan. Watching the past auditions is somewhat anticlimactic since the results are already known, but I don't think I'd actually seen the whole thing before because while I remember seeing Fujimoto Miki's audition, I didn't remember anything of seeing Satoda Mai in the 4th Generation auditions at all. She seems to be as much as of a boke then as she is now. =D Also, since I had previously watched the Asayan audition in clips, I think I missed a part of the last part where the mentors talked about what they were teaching their mentorees. Iida said she was teaching Tsuji rhythm (which can also be found out by watching 4th Gen's first appearance on Utaban); Yasuda was told to concentrate on Rika's singing; Goto was teaching Aibon how to greet people and whatnot (keigo, basically, since Nakazawa was pretty quick to complain about Tsuji and Kago on that front); and Yaguchi was teaching Yossie "expression" since Yaguchi is the type of person who's always laughing and smiling. Certainly, Yaguchi can be seen always very vocally encouraging Yossie around that period. <3 It's always funny to see how Yossie's mom's reacted to learning Yossie passed:
Yossie: Morning...
Yossie's mom: [smiling and supportive] It was no good?
Yossie: I got in!
Yossie's mom: [going completely blank] No way.
From Yossie's later comments, I'm willing to bet her parents were banking on her not passing and were actually shocked--and probably scared for her--when she did. According to Yossie, her dad was very against her joining Morning Musume but then her mother backed Yossie's decision. It's my theory that it was probably her parents that wanted her to go onto and finish high school, which she did.
Anyway, it's cute to see the first conversation between Goto, Yaguchi, Yossie, and Rika, wherein Goto and Yaguchi discuss how they should be addressed. Yaguchi tells them to call her "Yaguttsan" to which Yossie incredulously replies, "I can't call you that." I didn't realize either how young Ichii Sayaka was! She was only 14 when she joined, the youngest of 2nd Gen. :O
All the other Gens' auditions can be found floating around for those who want to indulge in the more often than not heartbreaking process (for the girls who lose). Of course, the auditions are meant to be harsh to weed out those who want it and those who don't (kind of like o chem for all those (crazy) people who want to be doctors).
Lastly, mainly LOL for the awesome "body and mind quiz" which has 5? of the members having to run on treadmills while one answers a question (and also filled with tidbits as the questions are all specifically catered to the one answering and each is preceded by a small introduction and talk segment that reveals aspects about the members (and lets the other members catch their breaths), such as Rika's dad's love of baseball and Yasuda's days working at McDonald's), here is MM's appearance on Tokyo Friend Park with 5th Gen. Fun and funny stuff, generally.
