I'm going to reply to the visiting K-Sone's comment in a larger post here because it hits on a lot of things I've been thinking about recently. I'm going to be bringing in commenters with whom I've discussed things, so apologies if I get any conversations wrong--feel free to correct me. My thoughts here pertain largely to the international SNSD fandom because that's the fandom I'm a part of (or should be a part of?). I'm only speaking for myself here and can only draw from my own experiences of hearing and watching things.

But first I really need to ask because K-Sones keep ambiguously hinting at it like it's the dirtiest secret locked in a closet: What in the world happened in the Korean SNSD fandom that makes everyone bristle at people who speak up about unequal member treatment? You can keep telling the international fandom they don't understand, but if you don't tell us what happened, we really won't understand.
