I've been reading Lililicious' scanlations of Aoi Hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) by Shimura Takako for quite some time now. Perhaps not as early as 2006, when they started releasing scans for it (though it's possible!), but the series itself is published once every two months. Actually, if I started reading it back in 2006 or 2007, it would make sense to me as to why I haven't written an entry about Aoi Hana, despite it being one of the few ongoing manga series that I keep up with. Back in 2009, an 11-episode anime adaptation of what I think amounts to the first three volumes of the manga was released. I'd heard about it then but hadn't watched it. Probably because I was pretty heavily sucked into the vortex of SNSD by that point.
But a few days ago, I suddenly had a desire to watch something. I thought, without any real reason, "Why not check out the Aoi Hana anime?" So I did.
I need to preface this by saying that the last time this happened a few months ago, I started watching Serei no Moribito. I think I'm somewhere around episode 4 at this point.
I finished watching Aoi Hana last night. Hrm. (And then I reread the follow up volumes of the manga that the anime didn't cover, lol.)
( Aoi Hana: a slice-of-life high school yuri manga/anime. )
Obligatory TV Tropes link!
