I want to ramble about the Will They or Won't They? Couple in Aoi Hana. I want to ramble about them because I remember having the impression of being very "NOOOO! >:O" over it, but in my Aoi Hana rereading spree, I realized that Shimura is taking a surprisingly nuanced approach to this particular relationship. First, it's a layered relationship. Second, the two involved in the relationship are approaching it from completely different positions, mindsets, levels of emotional involvement, degrees of relationship experience, etc. Three, if both parties feel uneasy with separate but overlapping concerns and fears and with so much at risk, how does a writer take everything into consideration from both sides and sell it to you?
And, you know, what if as a reader you're not sure you want to see the relationship happen?
( SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS )

Tall, dark bishoujo
"A beauty in men's clothing"
Too bad she's not gay
(The only reason Shimura introduces tall characters like Ueda is to put them in men's clothing. XD)
