My brother asked me to complete this research survey for an acquaintance of his who is doing her master's thesis and doctoral dissertation:
For this study, we are looking for women (trans-community included) 18 years of age or older, who self-identify as lesbian, bisexual, queer, or questioning (LBQ). The purpose of this study is to learn about gender presentation and substance use in LBQ women.

If anyone would like to contribute by participating, please do.

I recently had a conversation (or several) about falling in love and being in love. (Or maybe into infatuation. Or maybe into lust.) So tell me (and feel free to mentally change the tenses to present tense if you are currently in love):

Would you say you have fallen in love? What differentiated "falling in love" from "having a crush"? Was there a difference for you? Did the latter develop out of the former, or did love smack you in the face out of the blue?

How did it make you feel? Was it what you thought or imagined it would be like? What surprised you about being in love? Did it make you do things for this person that you wouldn't normally do or would not have done for anyone else? Did it make you do things that you said you would never do? Did it feel like an addiction, like your brain on cocaine?

What was your attitude towards love before falling in love? Romantic? Cynical? Indifferent? How did you feel about being in love after having gone through it?

Do you think love can make you blind? Or does it just make you tolerant? Is there a difference between being blinded by love or being tolerant of someone for whom you feel affection, i.e. made you biased in favor of that person?

If it was a love you felt you could not pursue, did you let it go? How did you let it go? Was it a conscious decision and/or act of willpower--you will stop loving this person--or a gradual fading of feelings wherein one day you realized you weren't in love with that person anymore?

Tell me all your love stories, the good and the bad and the weird~!

In unrelated news: I was delighted to see this origami penguin pop up in my YT subscription list. I folded one, but I totally messed up the wings. :( But it's still pretty cute!
