I don't have many thoughts regarding the "Lost Girl" Season 3 finale. It was, in my opinion, anticlimactic in true "Lost Girl" fashion. To the point where I kind of wanted to bang my head into the wall and just ask the writers: Why? Why did you bother with introducing this plot element in the last third of the season when you had a MUCH MORE INTERESTING OVERARCHING MYSTERY THAT YOU THREADED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SEASON AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO CONFRONT WHAT FELT LIKE THE BIG BAD, YEAH?
The show was really obviously banking on a Season 4, as this episode felt like a setup for an upcoming season. Really, after the halfway mark, I wasn't all that committed to the episode because, let's be real, there wasn't much action on the screen. There wasn't even high tension. This decline in the tension and lack of a feeling of urgency is partially why I had checked out of the series two years ago around the Season 1 finale. My thoughts this time around went like this:
*30 minutes into the episode*
Me: I don't care about these other mofos! Will there be more Lauren in this episode?
*Episode ends*
Me: FUCK. I ONLY HAVE ONE QUESTION. WHERE IS LAUREN? WHY HAVEN'T YOU GIVEN ME A SINGLE CLUE AS TO HER WHEREABOUTS AND SITUATION?
The rest of fandom: Oh no, Bo/Kenzi/Dyson/Tamsin!!!!
Me: LAUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE CLEARLY A MOTHERFUCKING GENIUS IN THE LAND OF "LOST GIRL" TV SCIENCE AND THE MOST DANGEROUS CHARACTER IN THE SHOW!!! ♥ (?)
Yeah.
I just wanted an hour of Lauren, but clearly that would be too much to ask for when this episode didn't even lay down expectations or clues as to what will be happening to Lauren next season. Seriously, what the hell?
Don't even get me on some of the Bo and Lauren beats in this episode. Wait, too late, let's do it.
( I'm not kidding when I say I didn't care much about Bo/Kenzi/Tamsin/Dyson this episode. This show is seriously not catering to me. SPOILERS BE BEHIND HERE. )
