Learning about this long-distance relationship app just makes me think that I need to be in a pseudo-LDR with all of you so I can see all the pics of your cities and of your daily lives and all the restaurants I'd want to eat at and all the sites that are awesome and to feel like I live in a bubble with only one other person. (But obviously if I were pseudo-dating all of you, I'd be living in multiple bubbles but where each bubble only has one other person--and you can never know about each other unless we are all totally cool with sharing, because sharing is caring. Actually, now I'm kind of curious to know if this app supports [pseudo-]polyamory!) Anyway, in case those of you in LDRs didn't know how to be disgustingly cute with each other, here you go! (So, like, this popped up on my tumblr dash and I'm a total tumblr n00b, so you probably all already know about this app because I am a technological dinosaur of the internet age and you can tease me, but only lightly, please.)

Pitbull has a new song circulating on the Top 40 radio channels and it samples A-Ha's "Take On Me" (so classic 80s!) and because of that it drives me crazy every time I hear it. I just want to sing "Take on Me." But every single time, it's not it.

Speaking of songs I want to sing but that turn out not to be the song I am actually listening to: Ellie Goulding's "Without Your Love" makes me want to burst into Rihanna's "Diamonds." Every. Single. Time. "Shine bright like a diamond~~" (The Ellie Goulding song is awesome too. You know what is another awesome song of hers? "Stay Awake." Hell yeah!)

So in my car, my FM1 presets consist of the Top 40 Hits pop radio channels (all of which play the same 10 songs--I remember once when three separate radio stations were playing the same song that I didn't want to listen to at the same time) and FM2 has Alternative (/) (Soft) Rock channels. I haven't listened to the FM2 half in some time (and when I do, there's a good chance it'll be a gut punch of nostalgia), but recently I've switched over when I couldn't find anything on FM1 to enjoy. I've discovered that when I switch over and surf the preset channels, there is a 90% chance that one of the stations will be playing Red Hot Chili Peppers and an equal chance that it will be one of their many odes to California. RHCP, man. But I did find an aural treat in "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities. I also like their "Kangaroo Court." And I heard yet another cover of "Lovesong." I feel like the world is telling me there can never be enough covers of "Lovesong." (Originally by The Cure, not Adele! The Cure!)

Garbage apparently still exists as a music entity and teamed up with some band called Screaming Females to cover "Because the Night" by Patti Smith?! I AM THERE. THIS SONG. THE PIANO INTRO. YES. (Aside: I know I have fallen into shipping Bo/Lauren when what I think when I process the lyrics is "Wow, this is so Bo and Lauren. Why hasn't someone written a Bo/Lauren fic title 'Because the Night'?!" *sigh*) Because the night belongs to lovers. Because the night belongs to us.

Have I mentioned AlunaGeorge here yet? Because I like AlunaGeorge. "Attracting Flies," "White Noise," "Thinking about You" (Frank Ocean cover, which is how I discovered them), "Your Drums," "Put Up Your Hands" <3, "Just a Touch," "You Know You Like It." And all the remixes. Unf.

This reggae cover of "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People is awesome. Have some more Foster the People: "Houdini" (and a rockin' RAC remix), "Helena Beat."

Need some cool-down beats? Tycho is your people. Like if I want to just float around in existential unthinking mindlessness, "A Walk" is my jam.
